Community Guidelines

Last Updated: 11/12/2025

1. Be respectful

UniRoom is a community built on support and collaboration. You must not:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, or target others
  • Use hateful, discriminatory, or abusive language
  • Post content intended to shame, embarrass, or harm someone
  • Engage in personal attacks or incite conflict

Disagreements are normal — disrespect is not.

2. Keep UniRoom safe for everyone

You must not post, share, or promote:

  • Violence, self-harm, or dangerous behaviour
  • Sexual content or sexually suggestive behaviour
  • Content involving minors in unsafe or inappropriate contexts
  • Illegal or harmful activities
  • Malware, viruses, or harmful links
  • Content encouraging academic dishonesty (e.g., cheating, exam leaks)

If you see something unsafe, report it.

3. Protect privacy — yours and others'

Do not share:

  • Personal data of other users (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses) without consent
  • Screenshots of messages or private rooms unless everyone involved agrees
  • Sensitive information about yourself if you are uncomfortable with others seeing it

Respect the visibility settings of other users. Doxxing or exposing someone's identity is strictly prohibited.

4. No spam, scams, or misuse

UniRoom is for genuine student interaction. You must not:

  • Mass-post, mass-DM, or repeatedly send promotional content
  • Create fake accounts, impersonate someone, or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Advertise external services, tutoring, or commercial offers without permission
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits or platform security
  • Use UniRoom for phishing, fraud, or data harvesting
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools

Any behaviour that disrupts the student experience may lead to restrictions.

5. Share helpful, relevant content

Community rooms and subject rooms are meant for academic connection and support. Please ensure your posts:

  • Are relevant to the topic or room
  • Add value, ask thoughtful questions, or offer useful insights
  • Do not derail conversations or spread misinformation

Off-topic content may be removed to maintain clarity for other students.

6. Use media responsibly

Uploaded images must not include:

  • Hate symbols
  • Sexual content
  • Graphic or violent imagery
  • Copyrighted material you do not have permission to use

Avatars and banners should be appropriate for an academic community.

7. Respect moderators and platform decisions

Moderators may:

  • Remove content
  • Restrict posting abilities
  • Place accounts under review
  • Permanently suspend accounts for serious or repeated violations

Do not harass moderators or attempt to evade moderation (e.g., creating new accounts after suspension).

8. Academic integrity

UniRoom is for learning and sharing — not cheating. Do not post:

  • Exam papers not yet released
  • Answer keys or solutions to active assessments
  • Requests for someone to complete your assignments for you

Study help is encouraged; academic misconduct is not.

9. Report issues responsibly

If you see harmful, unsafe, or violating content:

False or malicious reports are also violations.

10. Changes to these Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines to reflect new features, safety requirements, or community expectations. Material updates will be communicated through the app.

Thank you for helping make UniRoom a safe, positive community.

These guidelines exist to support students, encourage meaningful connections, and ensure UniRoom remains a respectful and academically productive space.
